Ice Experts! — Nugget Ice, Ice Makers/Machines, and what makes ice clear as opposed to white?
The clarity of ice is completely dependent upon the freezing conditions. For example, to make the very very clear ice that they use for ice sculptures, they freeze it very slowly and mix the water during the freezing process. Cloudy ice comes from very quick freezing. As for the nugget ice, I know exactly what you mean! It’s awesome! And I have a friend that whenever she visits anyone in the hospital (usually a friend having a baby or something), she’ll always bring a huge container with her to take the ice home in!
