If the Bates Method really works, why don’t the eye-care industry adopts it as an approved alternative to eyeglasses?
Ans: Dr William Bates’, “Better Eyesight Without Glasses”, is still available in the bookstores (Kinokuniya, Borders, Times Bookstore in Singapore) today since its first publication in 1920. If the Method does not help people improve their vision, the book would long be out of publication. Dr Bates’ book is arguably the best selling book on natural vision improvement in history. The premise behind The Bates Method is that our eyes and mind (eyes are extensions of the brain) are capable of self-healing, whereas the professional eye-care industry assumes that vision problems are irreversible. Eye-care professionals will have to discard years of professional training to embrace the Bates Method since both views (Bates vs traditional eye-care) are opposing to one another.
