If the Troy library closes, can Troy residents borrow books from libraries in other communities?

• Troy residents may NOT borrow books from these neighboring libraries: Birmingham-Baldwin; Rochester Hills; Bloomfield Township; and West Bloomfield. • Troy residents must currently pay $200 a year to borrow books from libraries in Warren and Sterling Heights, which are Suburban Cooperative Libraries members. Troy residents must currently pay $100 a year for a non-resident card that can ONLY be used in Clawson. These costs are effective June 1, 2010, and could be subject to change. • Proposal 1 will keep our library right here in Troy from closing – a good investment for Troy’s children, Troy families and Troy’s future for no more than $99 a year for a property with a taxable value of $100,000.
