If you have both an iPhone and a Mac… how does the integration work?
The iPhone is made to sync with Mail, iCal and Address Book and does so automatically and very easily. It is all done through iTunes, and does require you to plug in the iPhone with the USB cord, it can not currently be done with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth unfortunately. It will sync your Mail settings and accounts, your iCal events for certain calendars or all calendars, and all your contacts or just certain groups. It syncs both ways as well, so if you add a contact on the phone or add a calendar event, it will be synced back to your Mac. Both your Gmail and .Mac mail will work fine on the iPhone. .Mac will be setup with the push of a button and entering your login info. In order to not have Gmail on your phone and then not your computer, all you need to do is enable IMAP mail on Gmail, which will keep the messages on the server rather than downloading them to your computer.
