Yes. In your programs, before data is displayed or modified, you can request the password from the user and code a call to STRNAT. The pseudo dataset name might look like this: NATURAL.PASSWORD.pswdIn the above example “pswd” is the password entered by the user. If the SSF grants the user access to this dataset, the program can assume this is the correct password for this user and allow the user to display or to modify the data. This provides the advantages of ensuring that the password given by the user is correct and that the user giving the password is actually authorized to use that password.
