Is a Harmon Kardon model 630 manufactured Oct 2003, HDMI compatible?

Harman Kardon AVR 630 was sold at the time when the term “DVI” video was not yet heard much, not to mention “HDMI”. So the 630 only has component video inputs and outputs as the top video sources. component video is still great (for example, regular DVD), although HDMI is definitely better in processing HD video signals. But, I don’t see why you have to upgrade to a HDMI-switching receiver, knowing that the 630 is simply superb in sound quality in every sense. The latest development in HDMI audio will offer better sound but I honestly don’t think my ears can tell much. What you can do is to hook up the video sources to the HDTV directly using HDMI cables, but turn off audio output for HDMI, and connect with the 630 using optical or coaxial audio cables.
