It should work. However, unless you either already own the Metz or can get an incredible deal, I’d seriously look at a TTL flash, either by Nikon or someone else. It makes things much easier. When I got my D-70, I also got an SB-800 Nikon flash.I don’t worry about anything except the image I want. (I remember when I used my first “auto”(non-TTL) flash. It was great. However, when I started, pros still used flash BULBS!) Good luck!
