Is a “stargate” wormhole theoretically possible?

In theory it might be possible as it is not excluded from General Relativity, but not in such a small scale as depicted on Stargate. It would take tremendous power on a galactic scale to be able to fold space and punch a hole in it. The main objection theoretically is postulated to be incredible tidal forces. This means that as you approach the singularity, it would have such a large gravitational gradient that the difference in pull between your head and feet would exponentially increase and pull you into bits. As 3D Homer said on one episode of the Simpsons as he fell into a black hole, “CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
