Yes, Ann Arbor is a safe for the most part. However, common sense dictates that you take the same precautions that would be applicable anywhere such as walking only in well-lit areas at night, locking your dwelling and vehicle and bike, and reporting suspicious persons to the police. Always lock your doors and windows at night or when you’re not home, and never leave valuables unattended, especially in the b-school’s Kresge Library.
