Is anyone else here waiting for their adopted child to be born?
Pre-birth matching should be illegal. This woman is giving you her child and you see it as an exciting shopping opportunity. She has not given birth yet so she is not a birthmother. She is an expectant mother. Why don’t you back off and let her really think about what she is doing. No one knows what they will feel about their child and giving it up until after the baby is born. She is pregnant, not you. There is no such thing as paper pregnant. Pre-birth matching is a form of coercion because the mother feels obligated to the potential adoptive parents and will feel guilty about deciding to parent her child. You should be ashamed of yourself for entering into this kind of arrangement.
This question and statement is utterly abhorrent. Paper Pregnant! UGH! This unborn child is still the child of her own mother and that mother only. YOU are not having a girl, the mother carrying her own child is having a girl, her baby girl only, until the actual surrender takes place and more importantly for YOU…the adoption finalization. And some people wonder why some people are so against pre-birth matching….this OP and question is the poster-child for anti pre-birth matching. I hope you do know…there is every possible chance that the mother can change her mind once HER baby is born…..which is her right to do so….no matter the decorating of a nursery, shopping and the fantasy of ‘paper pregnant’ that you are holding onto as a ‘guarantee’ that this unborn child is already yours.
