We want to establish ourselves in the oil and gas industry as a robust player, and form a strong base with the companies, complete their projects in a capable manner before we move into other areas such as mining and infrastructure. What was your first project, and what market research you do? We started operations in India in 1999 under the name Clough Engineering Ltd. The company’s first project was designing and installing a shallow depth oil-drilling platform for ONGC, GS-15 on the east coast. The entire contract was less than $10 million. The project was completed in less than five months, during December 1999 and April 2000. Clough constantly does market research in the oil and gas business worldwide, not just in India.
