Is Cymbalta a good anti-depressent?
Responses to psychiatric meds vary a lot from person to person. I go to a weekly support group for people with depression, bipolar, OCD, etc. One person announces terrific results from a certain med. The next person says “I tried that med and it was terrible.” I have heard these stories for years. This doesn’t mean you can’t ask for advice on what drug works or ask about what dosage is best. However, always remember that what works for one person may not work for someone else with very similar symptoms. After trying many meds (including Cymbalta) for years, I grew very frustrated and depressed because none of my meds were working. I had tried all the typical antidepressants. Finally I found a shrink who put me on Lamictal and Abilify. Lamictal is usually used for epilepsy and bipolar disorder. Abilify is usually used for bipolar and schizophrenia. Both are occasionally used for depression. I am not suggesting these two drugs for you. Cymbalta may work just fine for you. You just gotta
I have not tried that myself. I have tried Zoloft and it didn’t seem to work with me. I am now on 60mg of Celexa and I feel great. I also suffer from anxiety so Klonopin helps. I think it would benefit you to speak with your doctor, or if possible, a psychiatrist. Just remember that it could take some time to getting the right dosage/medication, so don’t give up the hope. Good luck!
