Stone Mountain is in Dekalb County but its no worse than anywhere else in the metro area. There is good and bad in every area around here. All counties around Atlanta have more crime than Atlanta because no one really lives in Atlanta. You got good and bad in Dekalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Clayton, and Cobb. To get back on the subject a good alternative is probably Snellville in which is in Gwinnett or Conyers which is in Rockdale. They are both very close to Stone Mountain and they lack a little less crime. Dekalb county is like 1 of the wealthiest counties in the country though. Just watch your friends and MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS and you shouldn’t have a problem. I’ve been here in Decatur for 5 years and I love it.
