There is a phenomenon described as ‘Pathological Gambling’ and it appears in the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders ). In order to define a person as pathological gambler his must meet five criterias from a list of nine such as thinking and fantasizing about gambling, developing tolerance (a need to gambel more), hiding the fact that he is gambling and doing illegal acts in order to finance his or her gambling.
