Is Georgia and Azerbaijan in Europe or Asia?
By the old definition, Georgia is in Asia, as anything south of the Caucasus mountains is Asia. But the people of Georgia are Europeans who moved across the mountains, and have much closer ties with Europe than with Asia. A small part of Azerbaijan is in Europe; most of it is in Asia, by the same rules. But the people of Azerbaijan are very definitely Asian.
