I get fewer colds than I did as a child both because I drink vinegar when I get a cold AND because I’ve acquired immunities to most of the colds that are available. A “rite of passage” (note spelling) is not supposed to kill the person going thru it. Disease are not “rite,” they are a horror to be avoided if at all possible. Or would you like to volunteer for the latest HIV vaccine trials?
