Is growing Coleus or Painted Nettle hard in a dry climate?
They are tropical plants therefore they love heat and bright light. It will not require as much water in cool temps as it won’t be growing as much. During summer make sure the soil is well drained after you water once wait for it to dry a bit and then water again. You might want to pinch out the very tip end leaves to make it branch and grow more compact. Also, you can take cuttings and root easily in soil or water for extra plants. It’s all in the love I am not sure of the exact conditions you have in your garden but see how its leaves react the deeper the color is the better.
