A brand-new hard disk is not partitioned and formatted. Thus it is not indicated in Explorer or on your desktop. This hard disk must be initialized, partitioned and formatted by your operating system after the first switching on. The procedure is as following: Click the symbol desktop with the right mouse and select the point “Administration”. In the following window you can select the tool manager and the connected hardware will be indicated. Then under drive you can find the hard disk used in external enclosure. Now search the data carrier administration on the left side and select it. On the right half you find now all drives. The new data carrier is grey deposited. Select it and click in the term field “data carrier 1” with the right mouse. If you are asked whether the dynamic data carrier should be converted into basis data carrier, please confirm it.
