Is Iron Man the coolest armored character in comics?
No. One more vote for the armored Doctor. Victor Von Doom is by far the best armored character in comics since, unlike poor Mr. Stark, Doom has blended high magic with super science. As much money and political power Tony has, he has never publicly ruled a country, whereas Dr Doom has. Plus Iron Man is a figgin’ hypocrite. I was just looking over marvel’s profile for him and it said that he had publicly revealed himself (again) as Iron Man while the Secretary of Defense… but later said that he would no longer be IM after he resigned. He obviously continues to do so, though it seems the public are unsure if he’s Iron Man. This is hypocritical because Stark is the person who convinced Peter Parker to unmask on live TV. So it is OK for the great and powerful Tony Stark to have a secret identity but not Pete? Another strike against him.
