It is usually a fashion faux pas for anyone to wear white to a wedding. However, the dress has pink flowers, so it should be fine. And, since your wedding is a beach wedding, white is a very popular color for sun dresses, so I would guess more could be wearing white. You should be the only one in a long white gown, so everyone will be focused in on you. MIL will just have to deal with it.
