Arena event snarls Downtown traffic Tuesday, August 11, 2009 By Jon Schmitz, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette An event featuring motivational speakers at Mellon Arena has caused traffic slowdowns and parking difficulties in and around Downtown this morning. Arena lots are full and organizers are now recommending that commuters and those attending the “Get Motivated” seminar park at Heinz Field, where shuttle service is available to the arena. The shuttle stops at Art Rooney Avenue and North Shore Drive. Patrons that park in the North Shore lots also were encouraged to attend the free Sixth Super Bowl Column unveiling and concert at the football stadium this afternoon.
