Is it right for Holmes to return to the stage for Memorial Day?”
After making her Broadway debut last year in the revival of Arthur Miller’s My Three Sons, Katie Holmes is headed back to the stage. Sort of. The actress, who’s married to Tom Cruise, will join actors Gary Sinese, Dianne Weist and others in Washington, D.C. at the National Memorial Day concert on May 24, the Associated Press reports. Holmes, age 30 and Weist will read a veteran’s personal story on stage. In past years, these readings have been based on veterans’ letters home, according to the AP. Gary Sinese and Joe Mantegna will host the concert. General Colin Powell, actor Laurence Fishburne and former American Idol contestant Katharine McPhee are scheduled to appear. The show will be broadcast live on PBS.
