According to the Kansas Department of Revenue, to apply for a driver’s license, all candidates must first meet the appropriate age requirement pursuant to the level of license (permit, etc.) requested. Past that, an applicant must (1) provide acceptable proof of identity and proof of residence, (2) pass a vision exam, (3) pay all applicable fees, (4) pass all applicable written examinations, (5) pass a driving examination and (6) never had a license that has been canceled, suspended or revoked in any state. If you have an out-of-state license that is not expired or expired within the last year, a driving examination is not required. There is nothing cited in the application process requiring a high school diploma or GED. Further information can be found in the Kanas Motor Vehicle Act, Chapter 8, Article 2.
