Is it true that sleep deprivation causes damage in brain cells?

0

I have seen many different study results and articles on the study of the effects of sleep deprivation. I do not remember anything leading to brain damage due to sleep deprivation – memory loss but not brain damage. However, the brain can repair itself some during some of the sleep cycles, which with deprivation, there is a failure to repair. I would say from what I have seen and heard the 2 are not directly linked!
