Already reports of small flurries of snow were reported in League City, including at the National Weather Service Office. The frozen precipitation is to eventually give way to clear skies but temperatures will drop into the high 20s for the weekend. The cold weather prompted the Santa Fe school district to dismiss classes early. The school district also canceled all extra curricular activities. The High Island school district, O’Connell High School in Galveston, Ambassadors Preparatory Academy in Galveston and the University of Houston Clear Lake also closed early.
