Is Laser Hair reduction permanent?
The FDA requires the words “Permanent Hair Reduction” to be used rather than “Permanent Hair Removal” . The results are going to be permanent enough if you follow the treatment protocol. However, individual treatment results may vary depending on hair type, stress levels, certain medications and different hormone levels. Laser only destroys hair in its active growth phase, the anagen phase. During this phase at least 85% of the hair is permanently removed. It is possible to experience minimal re-growth in an area previously treated by normally dormant hair, at which time you may want to do an occasional touchup.
There are no hair removal lasers that can reliably cause permanent loss of unwanted hairs. Any hair removal laser that is marketed as “permanent hair removal” is not being marketed honestly.
