Is life a self-fulfilling prophecy?

In the sense that life is what you or I make of it. I have known people who would seem to have everything needed to live a good life (money, health, security) but they were absolutely miserable. On the flipside, I’ve also met drunk, homeless guys who sat on the corner and played blues on the guitar all day long who seemed pretty darn happy. There is one thing in the world that humans can control and that is the way we view things. If you really, really want to make yourself miserable, you absolutely can. And if you really, really want to find something to be happy about, you can do that too. It’s all in the perspective. People get really stressed out about things like their jobs, or their relationships, or their back taxes or whatever. The reality is that in most situations, life does go on (ok, maybe in jail for back taxes) unless you have a life-threatening illness or accident.
