Is MPEG-4 FlexMux part of MPEG-4 Systems or part of DMIF ?

0

The FlexMux is a tool specified in ISO/IEC 14496-1, Systems, but is then used in a valid ISO/IEC 14496-6, DMIF implementation. DMIF provides the signaling means for configuring the FlexMux. The DAI provides primitives in both the control plane and the user plane, which hide the application on top of the DAI of the delivery technology details as well as of the FlexMux details: the application on top of the DAI only manages Elementary Streams, not FlexMuxed Streams, and is therefore FlexMux unaware. This model has been proved effective at the receiver side, but requires further consideration at the transmitter side.
