Is old testament a book before christ?
The old testament predates the new testament, because it’s one long story. And it predates Christ because he,a s the Messiah, was supposed to be the fulfillment of prophecies made in the old testament – that was the entire point! And the book hasn’t been “rewritten” – it’s been translated. Which does, of course, cause changes – sometimes important ones – to be made, simply because of the nature of translation and translators – it’s more an art than a science, even when you’re translating from English (King James) to English (Modern American), say. The original was written in Aramaic and Greek, for the most part, and translated to Latin and then to English and other languages. But that’s still not “rewritten”, with all the implications of that word. Best way to understand it is to start at the first word of the old testament and read all the way through to the last word of the new (being very careful NOT to pull out a verse or two here or there to prove a point, because it’s all too eas
