Is opposition to registration possible?
Any person may within three months from the date of advertisement or re-advertisement may state his opposition in an application to the registrar. The Registrar shall serve a copy of the notice on the applicant and applicant shall file within two months of receiving such objection a counter statement. After hearing from both the parties the registrar will take action regarding registration of trade mark. If applicant does not file a counter statement his application shall be deemed to have abandoned.
