Is overnight or extensive travel involved?
Not typically, although representatives in more rural areas tend to drive farther during the day due to a larger geographic spread. DEE does, however, offer initial training workshops regionally throughout the year for new freshman representatives. DEE also hosts periodic 1- to 2-day regional booster meetings two to three times each year, as well as an annual 3- to 4-day national conference, where Sales Representatives gather to discuss successes, struggles and strategies and hear exciting news about market trends. Conference locations vary depending on the market. Representatives can earn DEE Travel Dollars throughout the year based on sales production, to help offset travel expenses. In addition, DEE Sales Representatives may choose to attend state Library Association and other pertinent conferences as a vendor in order to generate leads. DEE will offset all or a portion of related booth expenses.
