Is SPSS available for new license purchases?
Unfortunately, SPSS does not have favorable pricing at this time. The cost is quite high for the three most-used modules. In order to obtain a moderate volume cost, 10 licenses have to be purchased. Individual inquiries may be directed to SPSS directly. The other option available, for faculty, is to purchase SPSS for one year from e-academy. Based on a funding co-op including the L&S Deans, Collaborate Labs, Instructional Computing, GGSE, and ISBER, UCSB now has a campus license for SPSS for the 2010-11 academic year. This license provides access to SPSS Base, Advanced, and Regression for all faculty and staff (including employed students) for the Windows platform only. License details: • The license is available effective 9/1/10. • The site license terms require tracking usage on a per copy basis.
