Sunday is not technically a part of Lent, because every Sunday is a “little Easter Sunday.” So it is permissible to break your fast on Sundays, though most people would probably choose not to do so. Of course, it’s not as though you’re being forced to fast in the first place.

Peace mate, In the Coptic Orthodox Church Sunday is still a vegan day during Lent however one is supposed to have breakfast unless one is fasting in order to receive Holy Communion. Pray for me please and for the unity of all.

In Latin-rite Catholic understanding, the 6 Sundays occuring during Lent are discounted, hence the Latin name for Lent, “Quadragesima”=”40-day-period” whereas if you count there are 46 days between Ash Wednesday and Easter. The reading in the Lauds (the Church’s morning prayer) for Lenten Sundays is Neh. 8,9b and 10 b, in which the people of God are urged not to cry and mourn , but be joyful on a day consecrated to the Lord. Hence, you can be joyful(but not altogether frivolous) on Lenten Sundays.

The Bible says the Sabbath is from the time the sun sets on Friday until the sun sets on Saturday. Anyone that is honoring or worshiping on Sundays are obeying the order of a forth century, Roman, ruler.
