Is Teleschool part of or the same as the Olelo organization?

The Teleschool Branch is not part of Olelo. The Teleschool Branch is part of the Hawaii Department of Education’s Curriculum, Instruction and School Support (OCISS). Teleschool does work closely with Olelo and so it may appear as though Teleschool and Olelo are the same. Because the DOE does not have its own broadcast channel to transmit on, it must partner with other agencies to transmit its programming which sometimes lead people to believe that Teleschool is part of the agency transmitting the programming. Teleschool transmits DOE video programming over Olelo’s channel 56 on Oahu and other public access stations across the state. Teleschool is located in the Olelo building but is not part of the Olelo organization.
