You are begging the question by setting it up this way — by saying that the Christian religion is based on the Bible. It is not based on the Bible. Paul had only the OT and later the gospels. Moses and Abraham didn’t even have that. Parts of the Bible are eye-witness accounts of those who were actually with Jesus. But Christianity had a good head start long before Matthew put pen to papyrus. Christianity isn’t based on the Bible. It’s based on God and God’s sovereign action. The main question for philosophy is “Why is there something rather than nothing?” Everything needs an antecedent cause. If there was ever nothing, there would necessarily be nothing still. The Bible draws heavily on cosmological proof for God, proof that does not need the Bible at all! Romans 1:18-20: “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it
