Is the Daddy long legs spider the most venomous spider in the world?
The Daddy long legs spider: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pholcidae They are are actually spiders and like all spiders they do have venom, although the amount isn’t enough to do anything to us (unless you have a severe allergy) and they can break the skin pretty much if forced/provoked. This was the one that was on Mythbusters. This is what we commonly call the Daddy Long Legs (note no spider in this name): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opiliones This is not a spider, it only has 6 legs not 8, but this is the one that the myth is based on, not so much the previous spider. These do not have have venom at all, and their chelicerae are used for grasping rather than as fangs in the case of spiders.
