Is the Electromagnetic Spectrum a scientific model?

0

Most any description we have of nature is a scientific model. We can model light (and radio waves and all that) as disturbances in the electric and magnetic fields that propagate through space according to Maxwell’s equations. They can have any frequency (which accounts for the spectrum). We can explain reflection and refraction and polarization and pretty much all the properties of light (up through quantum mechanics) using Maxwell’s model.
