Is the PS&T Unit Agreement suspended during the emergency created by the World Trade Center tragedy?
A. No. The terms of the Agreement still apply. However, your department or agency may have special emergency needs and there may be changes in working conditions caused by the destruction of the World Trade Center. These are extraordinary times, and while we encourage all PEF members to be as understanding and flexible as possible, it does not mean that we abandon our rights under the Contract or under the Taylor Law. You may be required to report to a new work location and/or may experience other changes, such as a change in work schedule. Some of these may be justified and, thus, fall within managements discretion, while others violate the terms of the Agreement. The specific facts and circumstances will determine whether a contract violation occurred. Please contact your steward or Field Representative immediately, if you think your contract rights have been violated.
