Is the public sectors utilization of electronic tendering services an effective purchasing mechanism?
In a just published article (see link below), it is suggested that electronic tendering services are ideal vehicles through which propsective suppliers to the government can gain “easy access to finding government contracts.” However studies in both the public and private sectors suggest that any purported convenience in terms of access is offset by the perception that the lion’s share of the business ultimately goes to a select few or “chosen” suppliers.
