Is The Reverse Discrimination Argument Valid?
Intense discussions and conflicting views concerning minorities and women receiving preferential treatment are sensitive and highly debated issues. It is the basis for white America’s reverse discrimination argument that “qualified white males” are subjected to employment discrimination. They believe unqualified minorities and women are given jobs they deserve. Their contention is no group or gender should be subjected to racism or bigotry. This argument has been effectively used to dismantle Affirmative Action. A superficial review of the reverse discrimination argument appears to have merit. In reality, once you understand the basis behind the reverse discrimination argument, you find it is racism and bigotry in its purest form. The reverse discrimination defense only addresses the symptoms of racism and bigotry that affects a small portion of the white male population. It does nothing to address the root of racism, bigotry, and sexism that ravish the vast majority of African America
