With limited knowledge on the subject I don’t know how much I could direct you. But I will give it a shot! I would highly advise against going into the SEN field unless that is your “true love” (helping those less fortunate). But if your goal is to help those with Asperger’s, take into account that many of these students are not in special ed as the generally do not display a deficit in learning potential. They generally take normal courses. If this is truly your dream to pursue helping those with AS, I have some suggestions for you. This might sound crazy, but hey! Aim high! If you want to be compensated justifiably for your work, don’t go into this field. If you want to contribute something to this field of interest, set your sights high! Don’t settle for less than your best. If you really want to help those with AS, get in contact with the English equivalent of NAMI, and start an AS support group in your area if there is not one already(or go to one already established).
