Is there a connection between the Roundup-Ready beans and its productivity with drought stress?
I think the Roundup-Ready gene itself has had no influence on a variety’s ability to withstand drought, but a company may have been in a big enough hurry to develop a new, Roundup-Ready variety that they paid less attention than usual to its ability to tolerate drought. I also think producers are watching their Roundup-Ready varieties more closely than they used to watch their non-Roundup-Ready varieties.
