Is there a difference between getting stoned and getting high? Whats the difference between a stoner and a pothead?

There is no difference in being a stoner and a pothead. As for getting stoned and getting high, they are also the same thing if you’re just talking about weed, however you could get high off other drugs too.

Words can mean different things depending on where you live and your culture. I will try to explain it for the three people who have never smoked weed: Stoned vs. High • Stoned – This usually refers to a body high or a “couch lock.” Also known as “the greatest feeling in the world.” Indica dominant strains usually produce a stoney feeling. • High – Cerebral or head high. This high is usually more creative, active and energetic. Sativa strains usually create this feeling. *This word can mean a lot of things. This might be more internationally accepted: Stoner vs. Pothead • Stoner – A friendly and often peaceful person who is part of the cannabis culture. A stoner cannot be classified by the quantity of cannabis they consume. They are the people that prefer weed instead of beer on the weekends. • Pothead – A person who habitually smokes cannabis. This is someone who misses their flight to Amsterdam …because they got high. This person is still a much better person than an alcoholic.

1. YES! 2. NO FLYxNIGHT i believe is wrong in saying semantics for his second answer because he seems to think there is no difference between the two… where as to say the difference is semantics is to say the difference IS meaning. HIGH / STONED You will usually experience the high first – where you are enthusiastically enjoying something music / TV, are euphoric and energetic in a way – this is where you have huge fun. You can keep this going by smoking more but usually you will end up with the stoned feeling – just very relaxed, lethargic happy to lie there peaceful. To be honest I smoke for the high… I can relax easy enough as I’m usually tired anyway! I want the weed to make me euphoric / enthusiastic / enhancing enjoyment etc. Another important point is that the Satvia type is widely reputed to have more of the ‘high’ cerebral effect and the Indica type give more of the relaxed total body stoned. A lot of types of weed are bred with percentages of the two… possibly that’s wh

Theres a difference I read some where. Stoned is a rather cloudy confused state, where high is more of a euphoric state. From what I read differnt types of weed produce differnt effects. There are sites that sell seeds and will give a description of the effects of each type of plant. As far as the diff between a stoner and a pothead- cant say I see one.
