Answer Hello James, You shouldn’t have to be running any third party program to change text on your system and that is probably why you re having troubles changing anything the normal way, because that program is taking over the controls. I suggest uninstalling any third party software (that is not a windows function) and then you should be good to use the normal method, which would be simply RIGHT CLICK on the desktop and choose PROPERTIES and then change things such as your APPEARANCE tab, here I would have cleartype turned on, as well, you will see the ‘themes’ in which you can choose an overall theme for your icons, sounds, etc, or individually change the display background, screen saver, etc. What is probably the best thing for you to do is visit my website at http://tpsconsulting.com and read my TIPS page on OPTIMIZING your computer.
