Most of the elementary schools have on-site day care after school. You really have to go to the school and meet the people who run the programs to decide if you like the program. At my children’s school in North Valley (Noble School) we have a good after-school day care plus a new after-school program run by the city of San Jose. Parents have choices. Because my children are young (K-2) I chose a third option. I found a parent with children at my school (who has her day care license) to pick up my kids and then they are with that mom in the afternoons until I can pick them up after work. The 4-Cs (Community Child Care Council) has a list by address of in-home day care providers by age of child.
