Is there an Appeals / Grievance procedure?
Yes. If for any reason the University’s offered accommodation(s) is/are rejected by a student, the student should first meet with the Disability Advisor (DA) to discuss his/her reasons for the rejection of the offer. If the student is still not satisfied with the decision with regard to a disability accommodation, he/she may either: 1) so state in writing to the University Disability Coordinator (Vice-President of Student Development), asking that the matter be submitted to the Provost of the University, or (2) forward a copy of the University Disability Coordinator’s decision to the Provost of the University, stating in a cover letter that he or she wishes to appeal the determination pursuant to this policy. Students contacting the Provost of the University directly are asked to send a courtesy copy of their request to the University Disability Coordinator.
