Tables aren’t a “no-go”, they just aren’t supposed to be used for page layout. Where tables should be used is when the headings relate to the ‘data’ cells. Is this the case? I’m just not entirely sure how we can specify ‘data, one example of how our authors have found it necessary to use tables is on hte following page; http://www.ne-derbyshire.gov.uk/environ … ng-schemes I don’t feel that there is any better way for this author to present this information other than in a table. As long as the tables contain headers which relate to the various cells contained within this is OK. More complex tables benefit from some structural markup like thead and tbody, but for a simple one header row table they aren’t essential.
