Is there any difference between D2 diesel Oil and Diesel and furnace oil ?

Yes ther is a difference. D2 diesel oil, is ment only for the over the road use. They put a special dye in the diesel fuel to tell if it is being used for some applicaion that is should not be used for. Plain diesel fuel is what was formally known as kerosene, years ago. Then the name was changed to diesel, when the diesel engines were first introduced. Furnace oil and plain diesel oil are quite simular, only that the furnace oil is of a different color, from the other two oils. But for all practial purposes, the plain diesel oil and the furnace oil are one in the same.
