Yes, Compandent offers low-cost Data-Terminal Equipment (DTE) such as FLEXI-232 for interfacing EVRC-WB vocoders with external devices such as Rockwell Collins MDM-3001 and other modems. Also, Compandent has designed and manufactures such a portable device called MELCODER. We designed it for the US DoD and NATO needs. The MELCODER is considered the “golden standard” for EVRC-WB communications by the US DoD and NATO. The MELCODER offers full duplex EVRC-WB communications at each of the two rates, transcoding between the rates, activation or bypass of the noise preprocessor and the postfilter. It also offers on board PCM codec or PCM exchanged with external device or work station. One may conduct field or lab testing using it, or set a complete EVRC-WB network using MELCODER devices. We can also provide you with cost effective solutions to feed EVRC-WB data to your system (modem etc.), and we can implement customized interface for your needs.
