Is there any yeast, corn, dairy, gluten, or other major allergens in Fem-Dophilus?
There may be trace amounts of casein (dairy) remaining in the finished Fem-Dophilus capsules, as the probiotic strains in Fem-Dophilus are grown on a dairy-based media. In the probiotic production process, the growth media is completely separated from the probiotic cultures via a centrifugation process. Following centrifugation, trace amounts of the growth media may still remain attached to the finished cultures, which in this case, is trace amounts of casein (dairy). What is the loss in potency when Fem-Dophilus is shipped un-refrigerated? The loss of potency during un-refrigerated shipment depends on 1) the amount of time in transit and 2) the ambient temperature during shipment. In the summer months, there will be a greater loss of potency during shipment than in the winter months.
